ORIENTAL MEAT BALLS WITH RICE

Ingredients Needed For ORIENTAL MEAT BALLS WITH RICE

* 2 slices bread
* 1 pound lean ground Beef
* 1 teaspoon salt
* 1/2 teaspoon dry mustard
* 1/2 teaspoon ground ginger
* 1/4 teaspoon garlic powder
* 1 egg
* 3 tablespoons cornstarch
* 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
* 1/2 cup Sugar
* 1/2 cup vinegar
* 1/2 cup dry sherry
* 1/4 cup soy sauce
* 3 cups hot cooked rice

Directions To Prepare ORIENTAL MEAT BALLS WITH RICE
=
Moisten bread with water and squeeze dry. Combine with meat, salt, mustard, ginger, garlic powder and egg in medium bowl; mix well. Form into 1-inch balls; roll in cornstarch.
Heat oil in large skillet over medium-high heat. Add meat balls and cook until brown on all sides. Pour off excess fat.
Combine Sugar, vinegar, sherry, soy sauce and 1/4 cup water in small bowl; pour over meat balls. Simmer, basting occasionally, about 15 minutes or until sauce thickens and meat balls are glazed. Serve over hot rice.
